Blue Montain Academy is located in the city of Hamburg, Pennsylvania, on the east coast of the United States, and is located by the beautiful Appalachian Trial Mountains and very close to the cities of New York, Philadelphia and Washington DC.
Here you will have a unique experience practicing English through academic, recreational and typical US activities. Do you know how?
LEARNING FROM US
Students will be immersed in academic topics by interacting with them in practical ways while also building cultural understanding, exposing them to worlds outside their own. Subjects will include, science, literature, math and music.
BURNING MANY CALORIES
Students will have the opportunity to explore outdoor and indoor physical activities and to learn about the positive impact of exercise on academic performance. Activities will include, gymnastics, basketball, soccer, volleyball, softball and recreation.
FLYING HIGH!
You’ll have the opportunity to take off with our teachers and learn the basics of flying a midsize plane living a unique and unforgettable multi-sensory learning experience.
TRAVELING AND KNOWING UNFORGETTABLE PLACES
These outings will enrich the students’ real-world experiences with educational trips that will provide a positive, lasting impact on their education and career as they become more engaged, intellectually curious, and interested in and out of school.
NYC
New York City comprises 5 boroughs. At its core is Manhattan, a densely populated borough that’s among the world’s major commercial, financial and cultural centers. Its iconic sites include skyscrapers such as the Empire State Building and sprawling Central Park. Broadway Theater is staged in neon-lit Times Square.
DC
Washington, DC, the U.S. capital, is a compact city on the Potomac River, bordering the states of Maryland and Virginia. It’s defined by imposing neoclassical monuments and buildings–including the iconic ones that house the federal government’s three branches: the Capitol, White House and Supreme Court. It´s also home to iconic museums and performing-arts venues such as the Kennedy Center.
HERSHEY PARK
Students will enjoy learning about the transformation of cacao beans into HERSHEY’S candy. They will observe exactly how chocolate is made from beginning to end. It is a great lesson in science and engineering! It is a true multi-sensory learning experience. Hershey Park also includes 14 coaster rides and a few interesting souvenir shops!
OUTLET MALL
Our incoming students will have an opportunity to visit and shop at Woodbury Common, a premium outlet mall just outside of NYC and featuring 250 of the most sought after and designer retail brands in the world including Adidas, Nike, Celine, Bottega Veneta, Polo Ralph Lauren, Micheal Kors, Burberry, Coach, The North Face and more!
SIGHT AND SOUND
Sight and Sound is a Christian theater which provides an unforgettable theatrical musical experience. Breathtaking sets; beautiful, original music; professional actors; and even live animals; bring the stories of the Bible to life. Sight and Sound has staged many productions, including Moses, Joseph, Ruth, and Jesus. A brand new musical, Queen Esther, will premier in March of 2020.
